Intermittent fasting w świetle dostępnych badań naukowych

Streszczenie
W ciągu ostatnich lat wzrosła popularność stosowania modelu żywienia intermittent fasting (IF) w leczeniu nadmiernej masy ciała. Intermittent fasting to koncept żywieniowy obejmujący cykle postu i jedzenia ad libitum, przeprowadzanych na bazie różnych protokołów. Wyniki badań wykazują liczne korzyści zdrowotne związane z jego stosowaniem, w tym porównywalny, ale nieprzeważający efekt w leczeniu otyłości w porównaniu ze stosowaniem dziennych restrykcji kalorycznych. W związku ze znaczącą zmianą sposobu żywienia, istnieje potrzeba dalszych analiz uwzględniających długoterminowe randomizowane badania kliniczne.
