Zastosowanie preparatów naturalnych w prewencji i leczeniu otyłości

Streszczenie

W ostatnim czasie w obliczu epidemii otyłości wzrasta wykorzystanie preparatów naturalnych, takich jak probiotyki, spirulina, błonnik pokarmowy czy zielona herbata w prewencji i leczeniu nadmiernej masy ciała. Wyniki badań wykazały, że suplementacja preparatami probiotycznymi skutkuje istotną redukcją masy ciała, spadkiem wartości wskaźnika BMI, zmniejszeniem stosunku obwodu talii do obwodu bioder i spadkiem zawartości tkanki tłuszczowej w organizmie. Spirulina oraz błonnik pokarmowy zmniejszają ryzyko powstawania nowotworów, regulują perystaltykę jelit oraz wykazują korzystne działanie w powikłaniach otyłości, takich jak cukrzyca, hiperlipidemia oraz nadciśnienie tętnicze. Natomiast spożycie zielonej herbaty, kurkuminy, preparatów morwy białej i resweratrolu przyczynia się do spadku nasilenia stanu zapalnego. Skuteczność preparatów naturalnych w redukcji masy ciała nie jest jeszcze w pełni potwierdzona. Preparaty naturalne różnią się od siebie budową chemiczną, przez co posiadają różne mechanizmy działania, co stanowi duży obszar do badań nad ich wykorzystaniem w leczeniu otyłości. Niniejsza praca przedstawia zastosowanie preparatów naturalnych: probiotyków, błonnika pokarmowego, sprzężonego kwasu linolowego (CLA), spiruliny, zielonej herbaty, papryczki chili, imbiru, czerwonego wina, kurkumy oraz preparatów morwy białej w prewencji i redukcji nadmiernej masy ciała.
