Streszczenie

Gazowe zapalenie pęcherza moczowego jest rzadkim schorzeniem dolnych dróg moczowych charakteryzującym się obecnością w świetle i w ścianie pęcherza moczowego gazu produkowanego przez bakterie, takie jak Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Enterobacter aerogenes, Clostridium perfringens itp. Wśród chorych przeważają kobiety w podeszłym wieku, ze źle kontrolowaną cukrzycą. Choroba ma różnorodny przebieg, od bezobjawowego po gwałtowny z cechami wstrząsu septycznego zakończony zgonem. Diagnostyka opiera się na dobrze zebranym wywiadzie, badaniach laboratoryjnych i mikrobiologicznych, ale ostateczne rozpoznanie ustalane jest na podstawie wyników badań obrazowych, w szczególności tomografii komputerowej. W leczeniu najważniejsze są celowana antybiotykoterapia, wyrównanie glikemii i zaburzeń wodno-elektrolitowych.
