Streszczenie
Dynamiczny rozwój biologii molekularnej umożliwił wprowadzenie wielu metod ukierunkowanego leczenia u chorych na raka żołądka oraz raka jelita grubego, które ugruntowały swoją pozycję w zaleceniach większości towarzystw onkologicznych. Zastosowanie leków antyangiogennych i blokujących szlak sygnałowy aktywowany w wyniku pobudzenia domeny zewnątrzkomórkowej receptorów naskórkowego czynnika wzrostu wiązało się niejednokrotnie w przypadku nowotworów przewodu pokarmowego z wydłużeniem czasu przeżycia wolnego od progresji choroby i całkowitego oraz zwiększeniem odsetka odpowiedzi, stanowiąc istotny postęp w leczeniu tej grupy nowotworów.
