L-arginine in diseases of the cardiovascular system
Nadciśnienie tętnicze 2012;16(3):179-185.
Abstract
L-arginine is an aminoacid which has many functions in human
organism. It is the precursor for the synthesis of molecules
of great biological importance e.g nitric oxide or creatine.
The discovery of the metabolic route L-arginine–nitrogen
oxide disclosed new, wide possibilities of the therapeutic
use of the L-arginine especially in diseases with the dysfunction
of the endothelium, eg. arterial hypertension.
