Abstract

Renovascular hypertension is the most common form of secondary hypertension, reversible after renal revascularisation. Renal artery stenosis occlusion can also lead to renal insufficiency. The majority of renovascular lesions are caused by atherosclerosis. Most of the rest are caused by fibromuscular dysplasia of the renal arteries. It usually presents in one of three forms: asymptomatic renal artery stenosis, renovascular hypertension or ischemic nephropathy. This complexity often makes diagnostic and management decisions difficult. This article presents a case of 17 years old woman hospitalized with secondry arterial hypertension.
