Abstract

Unsuccessfull control of hypertension is usually related to patients' non-compliance. Half of newly diagnosed patients taking part in educational meetings state that "close to normal" blood pressure during pharmacotherapy justifies stopping the drug treatment. Educational meetings improving knowledge on the disease help to achieve better therapy results due to information on potential drugs benefits and adverse effects. Most of the hypertensive patients need several drugs to control their blood pressure. The number as well as scheme antihypertensive pressure lowering drugs administration may influence therapy outcomes. Usage of long-acting combined drugs provides comfortable way of administration with simultaneous number of pills reduction.
