Attentional training in therapy of the patients with impulse control disorder

Abstract

Deficits of attention, which is one of the most important cognitive functions, are observed in many different diseases and disorders, but are rarely subject to therapy or rehabilitation. In this article we present the results of research on the cognitive functioning in persons with impulse control disorders and propose the application of those results in therapy of patients addicted to activities, with special regard to the persons addicted to sex.
