Termal therapy in chronic kidney disease
Abstract
Thermal therapy is not likely to consider as part
of a treatment strategy in chronic kidney diseases
(CKD). National Health Fund statistics informed that
nephro-urological patients count below 1% in the
overall volume of patients referred for thermal therapy
in Poland. The first part of the paper describes
main balneological methods and adaptogenic influences
on the body with particular attention to the
etiology of CKD. The second part support thesis that
multifactorial thermal therapy would be considered
as part of complementary medicine in nephrological
care. Finally, practical information on how to refer
CKD patients for thermal therapy has been included.
