Safe ways to control bleeding from arteriovenous fistula to hemodialysis
Abstract
The safe management of hemorrhage from dialysis fistula is an important part of patient care undergoing hemodialysis. Both the method and the time spent on effective hemostasis directly affect the organization of nursing staff time in the dialysis center. This important element of nursing work also affects the transmission of cross-contamination by patients and staff. Trends in prolonged bleeding after hemodialysis have been associated with chronic renal disease and antiplatelet and anticoagulant therapy. This article describes the physiology of hemostasis and current and alternative methods to ease hemorrhage fistula bleeding after hemodialysis. In the present work, attention was also paid to our own experiences related to the use of modern Woundclot dressings in dialysis practice.
