Old yesterday age, today and tomorrow with peritoneal dialysis

Abstract

Aging is a dynamic process. The determinant is the biological degradation of the body which affects the reduction of physical and functional. Functional disability is caused not only age but also the coexistence of many diseases, hampering the treatment and care. In recent years there has been a steady increase in the number of elderly patients with end-stage renal failure. The use of peritoneal dialysis is an alternative to hemodialysis dialysis treatment is of particular importance in the study group patients. Peritoneal dialysis has many advantages as well as disadvantages but it is certainly less destructive to the health and life of patients especially in the elderly. This articleis an attempt to show the benefits in the use of peritoneal dialysis for treatment of patients with chronic kidney disease in older people in the longterm.
