Honorary Members of the Polish Society of Nephrology Part II. Prof. Jan Nielubowicz, MD, PhD

Abstract

The previous issue of „Forum Nefrologiczne” featured our first article of the intended series „Honorary Membersof the Polish Society of Nephrology” which was dedicated to the first President of the Society, prof. Tadeusz Orłowski. The current, second part of the series sets to depict the portrait of Prof. Jan Nielubowicz, one of the most notable Polish surgeons remainingin close professional relationship with prof. Tadeusz Orłowski. Prof. Nielubowicz was one of the creators of the Polish kidney transplantation programme and one of the few non-nephrologists to become a honorary member of the Polish Society of Nephrology. The article coincides with the 30th anniversary of theactivity of the Polish Society of Nephrology and theon-going 11th Congress of the Society.
