Abstract

The article concerns awareness campaigns related to Alzheimer’s as a tool for taming the social taboo of dementia diseases and bridge of social support for patients and their families in caring process. Usage of the word as a carrier of content in formative dimension of social functioning and the power of creating reality is contemplated. Social responsibility in relation to the sick, being at risk of social exclusion and their families can express themselves by means of social communications, to stimulate the reflection, as well as drawing attention to the problems often marginalized in societal discourse. Ranges of obligations for pedagogy and social sciences are shown in shaping the axiological sensibility, likely to help improve daily functioning of families of dementia patients. Social campaigns for dementia patients and their relatives will be presented as a way to build social responsibility and commitment towards these people in society.
