Pharmacotherapy in psychiatry

Abstract
This paper deals with the pharmacotherapy position in the modern psychiatry, especially in the treatment of affective
disorders and schizophrenia. Despite some significant limitations pharmacotherapy is and, in the future which could be
potentially predicted, will be a main stream of the treatment of psychotic disorders. One should not however forget about
alternative therapeutic methods, and pharmacotherapy should not to be overestimate.
