Abstract

The authors present the summary of information on clinically relevant interactions of sertindole. Interactions with QT-prolonging drugs and interactions at the level of CYP2D6 and CYP3A4 enzymes are presented. Moreover, mechanisms underlying both types of interactions are discussed. In the summary the authors emphasize the interactions between sertindole and other psychotropic drugs. Finally, some suggestions how to increase the safety of sertindole therapy are given.
