Monika Olejniczak
Psychiatria 2012;9(3):77-82.

Abstract

The aim of the essey is a presentation of basis psychosexual function of girls. Anorexia nervosa is a disease which morbirity rate increases in a very fast way. Even 8 year-old girls start to suffer. Researchers find the etymology of the problem on many levels and one of them is a negative attitiude to sexuality and a desire to return to ealier development stages or stoppage of the adolescence/maturation process. There are varied explanations for attitudes towards the psychosexual adolescence development. One should consider a sexual abuse, premature appearing of secondary sex features or thier appearance in general, the fear of life of adulthood (for example from making decisions or having children), an avesion to intimate relations or accepting female/male gender roles. We should not forget about the need of having the control of one’s own body which is related to an attempt of blocking menstrual periods.
