Abstract
Abstract: A case of a 72-year-old female who was admitted for elective dual-chamber pacemaker implantation, is presented. A few hours after the procedure the patient developed chest pain with ST-segment elevation in ECG and a significant increase in the troponin I level. An acute myocardial infarction was diagnosed. Urgent coronary angiography revealed normal coronary arteries without spasm. Possible causes of acute myocardial infarction following pacemaker implantation are discussed.
