Streszczenie

W niniejszym przeglądzie przedstawiono etiologię i klasyfikację stanów przedrakowych szyjki macicy. Omówiono zasady ich rozpoznawania na podstawie kolposkopii. Określenie wskazań do kolposkopii i biopsji celowanej stanowi kolejny etap w diagnostyce stanów przedrakowych szyjki macicy. Wczesne wykrywanie wymienionychych stanów zapobiega rakowi szyjki macicy, ponieważ zmiany przedrakowe wysokiego stopnia prowadzą bezpośrednio do rozwoju tego nowotworu. W artykule opisano podstawy profilaktyki pierwotnej i wtórnej, rodzaje badań przesiewowych oraz zachowanie pacjentek zaniepokojonych wynikami różnych badań przesiewowych.
