"International Maritime Health"  (IMH) is an international, multidisciplinary, scientific journal dedicated predominantly to research and practice in the field of maritime medicine. However, Journal Editors will also consider for publication submissions from related fields such as:  occupational medicine, tropical medicine, telemedicine, hyperbaric and diving medicine, travel medicine, military and navy medicine, fishermen health problems, maritime and occupational psychology, maritime toxicology, hygienic problems on ship, harbour sanitary problems and health promotion at sea, during travel and in tropical environment.

The Journal was established in 1949 and from then until 2018 it was owned by the Institute of Maritime and Tropical Medicine in Gdynia.

In 2018 the ownership of IMH  was passed onto the newly formed International Maritime Health Foundation (IMHF; www.IMHF.pl) which is now responsible for the maintenance of this periodical.  

IMH publishes original papers, reviews, case reports but also letters to editors, book reviews and editorial materials. It is an open access magazine. Authors are not charged for publication.

The journal is published four times a year (the first issue not later than March 31, the second issue not later than June 30, the third issue not later than September 30, the fourth issue not later than December 31st).

The Journal has been included in the register of journals and proceedings of international conferences published by Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education on January 5th, 2024 with 40 points awarded.
