Bezpieczeństwo stosowania inhibitorów pompy protonowej u chorych z przewlekłą chorobą nerek — aktualny stan wiedzy
Abstract
Proton pump inhibitors (PPI) are commonly used drugs which decrease gastric acid secretion. In recent years, a systematic increase in use of these drugs has been observed. The question arises whether the therapy is safety and indicated. There is increasing evidence that the use of proton pump inhibitors is associated with the development of kidney disease. This paper presents the current state of knowledge regarding the indications and safety of PPI therapy and discusses adverse effects relevant to the nephrologist. Further studies of safety are required in the population of patients with chronic kidney disease during pre-dialysis period and undergoing dialysis, as well as development of guidelines for the use of PPI in this group of patients.
