Abstract

2013 marks the 30^th anniversary of the Polish Society of Nephrology. In order to commemorate this fact, the Members of Historical Section of theSociety have launched a series of publications presenting the Honorary Members of the Polish Society of Nephrology. The first publication concerned the Society’s first President — Prof. Tadeusz Orłowski, the outstanding Polish internist, nephrologist and transplantologist. The present paper, which is the third in the cycle comes out almost exactly on the day of the 30^th anniversary of the commencement of the Society’s operation, sets out to portrait Prof. Zygmunt Hanicki, the creator of the Krakow nephrology and dialysis treatment.
