Choroby przenoszone drogą płciową u powracających z podróży

Streszczenie
Choroby przenoszone drogą płciową (STD) są jednymi z najczęstszych problemów zdrowotnych na świecie, z wysokimi wskaźnikami zachorowań zwłaszcza w krajach rozwijających się. Wiele STD przebiega bezobjawowo, dlatego trudno je zdiagnozować oraz kontrolować. Obraz kliniczny chorób pr zenoszonych drogą płciową obejmuje między innymi nadżerki lub owrzodzenia w obrębie narządów płciowych, wydzielinę z pochwy lub cewki moczowej oraz stany zapalne nar ządów miednicy mniejszej. Choroby pr zenoszone drogą płciową dzielą się na infekcje pochodzenia bakteryjnego (rzeżączka, chlamydioza, kiła, wrzód miękki, ziarnica weneryczna pachwin, ziarniak pachwinowy), wywoływane przez pierwotniaki (rzęsistkowica) oraz wirusy (opryszczka narządów płciowych, kłykciny kończyste, AIDS). Osoby, które mają wielu par tnerów seksualnych, lub chorowały na choroby wener yczne w przeszłości, są bardziej skłonne do nawiązywania przygodnych kontaktów płciowych. Od 5% do 50% podróżnych przyznaje, że podczas wyjazdów krótkoterminowych uprawiało seks z przypadkowym partnerem. Jedynie 50% spośród nich stosowało prezerwatywy. Ryzyko zakażenia jest zdecydowanie najwyższe w przypadku kontaktów z osobami świadczącymi komercyjne usługi seksualne. Najlepszym sposobem zapobiegania chorobom przenoszonym drogą płciową jest abstynencja seksualna lub związek ze stałym, niezakażonym partnerem.
