Intrinsicoid deflection and its usefulness in daily clinical practice
Abstract
Intrinsicoid deflection (ID), also called R wave peak time (RWPT), is the time from the beginning of the QRS complex to the peak of the R wave. It is a parameter used in intraventricular conduction disorders, ventricular hypertrophy, coronary artery disease, heart failure, prediction of sudden cardiac death, optimisation of resynchronisation therapy and differentiation of wide QRS complex tachycardia. The easiness of its measurement makes it an accessible tool useful in diagnostics, treatment, and also has prognostic value. Its use in various clinical situations makes it still an interesting parameter for researchers.
