Abstract

Clopidogrel belongs to medicines used in the treatment of patients with acute coronary syndrome. This medicine prevents platelet aggregation by blocking P2Y12 receptor. Factors that reduce the availability of active clopidogrel metabolite increase the risk of thrombo-embolic complications, especially in patient who undergo coronary angioplasty. This paper presents the impact of heart failure on effectiveness of clopidogrel therapy.
