Abstract

Atrial fibrillation and flutter are associated with increased risk of stroke and trasient ischemic attack (TIA). Procoagulation can be observed in first weeks of with witamin K antagonist theraphy. We describe 77-years old woman, hospitalized due to decompensated heart failure and atrial flutter with fast heart rate. Despite 10 days of acenocumarol theraphy, she was diagnosed with TIA, complicated by radius fracture with radial nerve palsy. Electric cardioversion and orthopedic operative menagement brought to cardiological stabilisation and clinical recovery of left arm.
