Abstract

Hypothyreosis is a widely known factor which influences the course of coronary heart disease. It increases the levels of LDL and triglycerides, inflicts diastolic hypertension and affects the ejection fraction and the heart rate. Hypothyreosis can enhance the impact of other coronary heart disease risk factors which hinders obtaining therapeutic objectives. We present a case of a patient afflicted with diabetes mellitus and a Hashimoto disease who did not adhere to the treatment recommended which led to the episode of myocardial infarction followed by acute left-ventricular heart failure.
