The comparative study of glucose determination by selected point-of-care glucose meters on the quality control viewpoint
Diabetologia Praktyczna 2005;6(4):173-176.
Abstract
INTRODUCTION. The main advantage of the point-of-care glucose analyzers applied in diagnosis and therapy
of diabetes mellitus is easy and quick analysis in
real time. The main limitation and potential sources
of errors are problems with precision and accuracy.
MATERIAL AND METHODS. Model standard solutions, standard reference materials and real samples were analyzed by selected point-of-care glucose meters.
RESULTS. Received analytical data were statistically analyzed on the precision, accuracy and uncertainty viewpoint.
CONCLUSIONS. It was stated that examined point-of-care glucose analyzers are described by very good precision but doubtful accuracy.
