Abstract

Most of the scientific studies indicates the increase of frequency of bone fractures in people with type 2 diabetes in comparison to subjects without carbohydrate metabolism disturbations despite the usually increased bone density in type 2 diabetes. The poor bone quality could be responsible for this effect. The aim of this study was to assessed what kind of factors influence the bone density and quality in women with type 2 diabetes with the poor metabolic control. The age of the subjects in this studied group was determined as the strongest factor.
