Jacek Sieradzki
Diabetologia Praktyczna 2007;8(6):212-218.

Abstract

Postprandial glycaemia is very important factor in good control of diabetes and it plays significant role in the development of long-term diabetic complications. Postprandial hyperglycaemia participates in the increase of HbA1c level and also takes part in short-acting effects of glycaemia on hemodynamic and biochemical changes in diabetes. S standardized methods of postprandial glycaemia evaluation is still lacking. Measurement of the alpha- D-glucitol level may be useful in evaluation of postprandial increases of glycaemia. The are many drugs which can reduce the level of postprandial hyperglycaemia.
