Abstract

The importance of postprandial glycaemia especially in generation of long-term complications of diabetes was presented. Among therapeutic possibilities the role of insulin analogs, glinids, acarbose and drugs of so called incretin axis was described. The self-monitoring of glycaemia is very important in monitoring of postprandial glycaemia with special role of glucometers indicating the link between hiperglycaemia and composition of meals.
