Diabetic nephropathy as a problem of choice of oral hypoglycemic treatment
Diabetologia Praktyczna 2011;12(4):121-127.
Abstract
Nephropathy is one of late microvascular complications
of diabetes being the major cause of end-stage
renal disease. Clinical trials have demonstrated
that intensive treatment of hyperglycaemia is associated
with decreased risk of this complication. However
choice of hypoglycemic treatment in patients
with diabetic nephropathy remains an important issue.
The aim of this article was to review the possibilities
of oral hypoglycemic treatment in diabetic
patients regarding the stage of renal function. (Diabet.
