Chirurgia Polska 2007;9(4):218-222.
Abstract
Background: The objective of the dissertation is to find reasons for the emergence of post-operative pain
in patients undergoing operations because of primary inguinal hernia with respect to the technical details
of the operation.
Material and methods: The risk of post-operative pain emergence was calculated according to the operation technique, at the same time paying attention to nerve identification, patient’s age and hernia type. The results were compared with literature relations.
Results: Based on a statistic analysis it was confirmed that the only reason for the emergence of postoperative pain is the placement of a tension mesh.
