Abstract

Tumour invasion of the urinary bladder may cause an intractable pain. Present methods for controlling this pain are limited if the pain is complicated by haemorrhage. Formalin and alum are used but are not very practical. We describe here a patient with a mixed prostate and urothelial carcinoma, bladder haemorrhage and severe pain, who responded to instillations with sucralfate.
