Abstract

Cerebrovascular disease may result in focal or generalized cognitive impairment in various degree. The most advanced form of such cognitive decline is vascular dementia. Apart from neuropsychological tests, event-related potentials (ERP) are also used in the assessment of cognitive impairment. The authors present the review of literature concerning use of ERP in the patients with cerebrovascular disease, with a special regard to the relationships between clinical and electrophysiological aspects.
