Pedophilia in judicial and sexological opinion

Abstract

The article presents the diagnostic category of “pedophilia” in the context of judicial and sexological opinion. Authors are considering the problems of definition, subtypes, diagnostic criteria and differential diagnosis, and also the consequences of the diagnosis such a disorder during the proceedings. The attempt to systematize the available knowledge and own experience of the authors in the area of diagnosing pedophilia is going to enhance the professional meaning of pedophilia as a specific sexual disorder. The perfect knowledge of the precise diagnostic criteria and the awareness of the consequences of credible diagnosis should direct the expert sexologists, making opinions of sex offenders against children.
