Streszczenie
U osób starszych zwiększa się ryzyko występowania zarówno problemów ze słuchem, jak i depresji. Wyniki badań
wskazują na zwiększone ryzyko współwystępowania tych problemów. Nieleczony niedosłuch może pogarszać przebieg
depresji, nieleczona depresja utrudnia rehabilitację słuchu. W pracy omówiono obecny stan wiedzy dotyczący związku
pomiędzy niedosłuchem i depresją, potencjalnych mechanizmów przyczynowych. Zaproponowano, żeby badanie słuchu
było standardem diagnozy depresji u osób w wieku powyżej 55. roku życia, a ocena stanu psychicznego standardem
postępowania z pacjentem niedosłyszącym w podeszłym wieku.
Streszczenie
U osób starszych zwiększa się ryzyko występowania zarówno problemów ze słuchem, jak i depresji. Wyniki badań

depresji, nieleczona depresja utrudnia rehabilitację słuchu. W pracy omówiono obecny stan wiedzy dotyczący związku
