The "Ophthalmology Journal" is a peer-reviewed, comprehensive journal on ophthalmology, created by German and Polish experts in the field, directed to the international community of authors, intending to impulse further development of this area of clinical medicine. 

The Journal welcomes submissions in English of original research reporting clinical observations and laboratory investigations with clinical relevance. Editors will also accept case reports, up to date reviews, editorials, education articles, letters and other relevant manuscripts that relate to the sense of sight, especially these describing new diagnostic and surgical techniques, also instrument and therapy updates. Manuscripts covering regional issues should also address a global context.

Submission and publication are free of charge for the authors. Since 2019 the Journal has been published in continuous mode.  

Ophthalmology Jounral provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. The Journal in published under auspices of The Polish Association of Ophthalmic Surgeons.

The Journal has been included in the register of journals and proceedings of international conferences published by Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education on January 1st, 2024 with 70 points awarded.
