Radical treatment of patient with three independent malignancies
Onkol. Prak. Klin 2008;4(3):107-109.
Abstract
The incidence of multiple cancers is a serious problem of modern oncology. Patient who was successfully
treated of one malignancy, quite frequently dies due to failure in the therapy of another one. Consequently,
the diagnostic procedures of proper accuracy, i.e. enabling early detection and description of lesions
which develop during the follow-up period, become of special importance. Some of the aforementioned
lesions are not necessarily the manifestation of recurrence but may indicate another, independent malignancy.
We describe a case of patient who was radically treated of three meatachronous cancers (breast,
gastric and adrenal cortex).
