Meningeal carcinomatosis in breast cancer patient — attempt of the treatment with liposomal doxorubicin
Abstract
Leptomeningeal metastases from solid tumors are observed in the form of local nodular infiltration of leptomeninges (meningeal carcinomatosis) or disseminated with free float of the tumor cells in the cerebrospinal fluid with adhesion as a monolayer to the surface of neural structures (carcinomatous meningitis).
The patient with meningeal carcinomatosis after previous radiation was treated with chemotherapy — liposomal doxorubicin and cyclophosphamide. Noteworthy remission and substantial improvement of quality
of life was achieved.
