Diagnosis of the patint with stage IV adenocarcinoma of the lung harbouring EGFR activating mutation with the coexisting oligoastrocytoma of the brain

Abstract

Lung cancer is the most common malignant neoplasm diagnosed in Poland. It is also the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in men as well as in women. Among all lung cancers approximately 40% are adenocarcinomas. EGFR activating mutations are present in approximately 10% of caucasian patients with non-small cell lung cancer. Among all diagnosed brain tumors only 2.3% are oligoastrocytomas.
