Hormonal therapy in metastatic breast cancer — a case study

Abstract

Hormone receptor-positive breast cancer is the most common subtype of breast cancer in all the stages of advancement. Hormone therapy, as one of the elements of breast cancer therapy, considerably influences this type of cancer patients’ future. The case described below is an example of treatment of a patient with hormone receptor-positive cancer when hormone medicines with different mechanisms of action were used at each stage of treatment. These medicines while preserving patients quality of life improve time to progression and overall survival.
