Small-cell lung cancer complicated by paraneoplastic acute renal insufficiency
Onkol. Prak. Klin 2012;8(6):255-259.
Abstract
Nephrological paraneoplastic syndromes can be related to renal tubules and glomerules lesions. Solid
tumors (most frequently lung cancer, gastric cancer and colorectal cancer) are responsible for 5 to 10% of
membranaceous glomerulonephritis cases. The most probable cause is the development of immunologic
complexes related to the reaction between immune system and circulating neoplastic antigens. Chemotherapy
in dialyzed patients creates a serious challenge in daily clinical practice.
The paper presents treatment of patient with small-cell lung cancer and acute renal insufficiency resulting
from neoplasmatic syndrome.
