Targeted therapy in bladder cancer patients
Nowotwory. Journal of Oncology 2012;62(6):464-468.
Abstract
Bladder cancer is the ninth most common malignancy and thirteenth leading cause of cancer related deaths in the
world. The five-year survival rate for localized disease is 94% and decreases for patients with distant metastases to
6%. Better knowledge on molecular biology of the tumors may lead to the discovery of new potential therapeutic
targets for this illness. This article is a review of published data related to targeted therapy in bladder cancer patients.
