Abstract

The article deals with modern views on the role of surgery in cervical cancer treatment. Objective indications for surgery in early and advance stage of the disease have been presented. The role of the operative technique, taking into consideration also the conservative procedures, has been defined. In the summary the authors emphasize the importance and necessity of cervical cancer patients being subjected to very careful preoperative diagnosis, and choice of the type of procedure made after very detailed analysis of all clinical and pathological features and patients’ preference.
