COVID 19 — clinical course in a chronically hemodialysed patient — case report and literature reviev

Abstract

In Poland over 21,000 patients are treated with renal
replacement therapy by hemodialysis; in the Pomeranian
Voivodeship over 1,300 people. During the half
year of the COVID-19 pandemic, only one patient
chronically hemodialysed in the Pomeranian Voivodeship
confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection. The patient
was admitted to the hospital dedicated to patients
infected with SARS-CoV-2, where hemodialysis was
continued. Hospitalization lasted 35 days, the patient
was discharged after obtaining 3 negative results RT-
-PCR SARS-CoV-2. The article describes the clinical
course of the infection and reviews the literature.
