Abstract

Recommended for patients with chronic kidney disease reduction of phosphorus intake is difficult because of the ubiquity of phosphate additives in food products and insufficient labeling on the phosphorus content on product labels. Both high intake of phosphorus, and abnormal ratio of calcium to phosphorus is also a real problem in a healthy people diet. Due to the significant content and a very good absorption of inorganic phosphate from products with a high degree of processing should minimize their intake in the diet specially in group of patients who should follow the low phosphate diet. Regular education, among other based on “Phosphorus consumption pyramid” is indicated for proper dietary choices.
