Acute kidney injury induced by contrast media — Polish Society of Nephrology position statement

Abstract

Acute kidney injury induced by contrast media — contrast nephropathy (CIN) is the third cause of acute kidney injury among hospitalised patients. Identification of patients at risk, proper prophylaxis to avoid CIN appearance and complication are presented in this publication. Statement concerning usage of gadolinium contrast is a separate part of the paper. Additionally there are two figures, first with practical algorithm concerning prophylaxis and second with risk factor assessment based on the patients’ answer.
