AA amyloidosis — a curable disease. Case reports

Abstract

Amyloidosis AA (reactive amyloidosis) is a result of long-lasting inflammatory process. Nowadays, in a highly developed countries, including Poland, amyloidosis is mainly caused by autoimmune diseases. Several years ago, in the majority of cases, the disease was a consequence of untreated infections. Regardless of the cause, it is possible to achieve remission of amyloidosis when inflammatory process is properly treated. Three cases of effectively treated AA amyloidosis are presented in this paper.
