survival quite good quality of life. In European Union
(EU) countries this kind of therapy is available to all
patients who need such a treatment. Additionally
among RRT patients in whole the world 15% are living
in EU while subpopulation of this region is equal
7.1% of world population. CEAPIR — European Kidney
Patients’ Federation is aiming to have influence
on the good standard and full availability of diagnostic
therapeutic procedures in renal patients in EU. During
the period: November 2010–November 2011 CEAPIR
performed special survey in which participated
3867 patients from 12 countries. The main subject
of the used questionnaire was to collect information
concerning availability of early diagnosis of chronic
kidney disease, possibilities of alternative methods of
therapy available for patients choice. There were also
questions about quality of care and patients satisfaction.
Analysis of achieved results enable to elucidate
differences in several aspect existing between EU
countries. Poland was evaluated quite well, especially
concerning quality of medical staff and availability of
information and education for patients. Nevertheless
too rare use of peritoneal dialysis in Poland, similar
like in the majority of EU countries, was revealed.
