Phytochemicals present in cosmetics available in Poland

Abstract
Phytotherapy has been utilized in medicine over ages. Plant-derived chemical substances are present in various drugs available on prescription and over the counter. Pharmaceutical market is abundant in cometics that contain phytochemicals. This review describes some phytochemicals present in cosmetics available on Polish market (epaline, soy proteins, Acacia concinna extracts, Calendula officinalis extract, castor and maize oils, wheat and barley aminoacids, essential oils of salvia, lemon, juniper, rosemary and apple cider vinegar), with particular emphasis on mechanism of action, clinical efficacy and potential side effects.
